Learning to play Live Baccarat

Live baccarat follows the same rules as traditional baccarat. If you are new to this game, the following guide will help to know how to play live baccarat.

You need to beat the dealer by having a value of hand that is closest to 9. Before the live dealer distributes the card, you can wager on who will have a closer hand. Live baccarat also allows you to bet on the dealer’s hand. So, you have multiple ways to win here.

Rules to follow

The objective of this game is to have a hand with a value that is closest to 9. If the dealer has the closest value, you lose. Some of the rules that you need to keep in mind are as follows:

• Aces have the lowest value in this game. Unlike blackjack where you can consider the ace as 1 or 11 depending on your hand, here it is worth 1 point only.

• Other cards from 2 to 9 have individual face values. So, 2 stands for 2 points, 3 for 3 points, and so on.

• Face cards, such as kings, queens, and jacks don’t have any value. They represent 0 value in this game. The same holds for number 10 cards.

The dealer deals two cards each, one hand belonging to the banker or the dealer and the other to the player. If both you and the dealer have the same card value, the game will end in a tie. No one will win anything. On the other hand, if you have a closer hand value to 9, you win the game.

However, there is a small catch here. It can happen that you get card number 8 and 7. So, it makes a total of 15. In this case, the left digit becomes obsolete. The dealer will only consider 5 as your hand value. Anything more than 9 means you need to delete the first digit or just subtract 10 from the total. Similarly, if you get a 9 card and a face card, it means your hand value is 9.

This is the easiest way to understand how to play live baccarat. There are no complicated rules. All you need to do is get your hand value close to 9 to win the games.
